The body of the fifth victim of the political clash between supporters of All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Daddere, Obi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State was found yesterday in a farm.
When Daily Sun visited the area, people were seen conveying the body for burial at Daddere Cemetery according to Islamic rites.
The deceased, identified as Muhammad, was reported missing after the bodies of four other victims of the clash were discovered. The development was said to have caused tension in the town before security agents arrived to save the situation from degenerating.
Meanwhile, normalcy has since returned to Daddere following the deployment of soldiers, mobile policemen and other security agents to the area.
When Daily Sun visited the area, people were seen going about their normal businesses unmolested and even those that left the town as a result of the crisis had since returned to continue with their lives.
In a related development, traditional rulers in Nasarawa State have banned political rallies in their domains to avoid a repeat of the bloody clash in the state.
According to a communiqué read at the end of a meeting of graded emirs and chiefs and signed by the Chairman of Nasarawa State Council of Chiefs and Emir of Lafia, Alhaji Isa Mustapha Agwai I, the traditional rulers frowned on the way politicians in the state were taking advantage of unemployed youths in making the state a battle field.
The statement also called on security agents in the state to be proactive in maintaining peace in the state.
