Former minister of Niger Delta Development,
Elder Godsday Orubebe, has said he has the
formula for the transformation of Delta State.
The former minister gave the assurance
when he visited traditional rulers and
community leaders in Ughelli North Local
Government Area of the state to brief them
on why they should support
his ambition to be
the next governor of Delta State.
At the palace of Ovie of Ughelli, Oharisi III,
Orubebe told the traditional rulers, including
the Osuvie of Agbarho Kingdom, Ovie of
Agbarha Kingdom and Ovie of Evwreni
Kingdom, that it was time for Deltans to come
together to work for the progress of the
state.
“The state has special needs and it is only
one who is versatile and very experienced in
government that can address them,” he said.
The governorship hopeful said he was being
propelled to become governor because he
was convinced that he had much to offer the
state in terms of development projects.
Orubebe said he had developed a roadmap
for the development of the state, the
implementation of which would begin from his
first day in office as governor.
He said he had always made landmark
achievements in every office he had held,
adding that he was prepared to continue the
task of developing the state from where
Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan would stop in
2015.
Orubebe praised Uduaghan for implementing
huge projects in the state even in the
countdown to the end of his tenure.
He added that his support for President
Goodluck Jonathan led to over 80 per cent
completion of the East West Road before his
resignation as minister.
