Tayo Sonuga, Haven Homes’ managing director, stated in a statement from his company made available to BusinessDay that his company was proud of the various successes achieved by 2Face, adding however that they expected the music maestro, who endorses the company’s exquisite brand as its ambassador, to be higher up on the list in order to tally with the views of commentators.
“2Face is phenomenal, a talented, hardworking, world class musical artiste of African roots who has won several awards in his career and has many more coming. He is one ambassador our brand is very proud to have. Forbes is such a great name that you cannot fault them in such matters but I’m surprised that he’s not higher on the list,” Sonuga said.
He said he expected the music artiste to be in the top three, guessing that Forbes and Channels O might have based their rating on the values of the artistes’ endorsements and not their personal wealth. “Nevertheless, 2Face is deserving of the recognition and we congratulate him,” he enthused.
Soluga disclosed that his company has deployed Idibia’s musical artistry and ingenuity to adapt a theme song that depicts the affordable luxury brand of homes that the company develops, adding that besides being their brand ambassador, 2Face had earlier purchased some units of houses from the Haven Homes stable.
The list of accomplished musical artistes was led by Akon, CEO of Konvict Music, followed by Don Jazzy, P-Square, D’Banj and Wizkid in the second, third, fourth and fifth places respectively. Anselmo Ralph is seventh on the list while Ghana’s Rapper Sarkodie, Ice Prince and Banky W were seventh, eighth, ninth and 10th respectively.
Seven Nigerian artistes were featured on the distinguished list of musical achievers. The list was put together using factors such as endorsement value, popularity, show rates, sales awards and YouTube views. Other parameters used include appearances in newspaper, investment, social media presence and influence among other factors.
