Passenger from countries affected by Ebola will now be screened at Heathrow
As part of attempts to keep the Ebola Virus Disease out of the United Kingdom, passengers arriving from West Africa will now be screened in the nation’s busiest airport, Heathrow
Passengers arriving at the UK’s Heathrow Airport from West Africa will be screened for Ebola starting from Tuesday, October 14.
Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt reportedly stated that passengers form affected countries will have their temperature taken and will also be required to fill out a risk questionnaire.
He also added that screening would begin at Gatwick andEurostar terminals next week.
The US has also started screening passengers at its airportswith John F. Kennedy in New York leading the way while 4 others are expected to follow.
Fears of an international spread of the disease were sparked when an infected Liberian arrived in the US where he later died on October 8.
